We are looking for a qualified teacher to teach a range of subjects to students aged 14-16 within an alternative setting and to lead on curriculum delivery and undertake necessary pastoral duties. You will require empathy and the ability to develop practices that support the physical, mental, and social development of children within the Centre.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • To use creative approaches within curriculum development and subject delivery
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge of key national curriculum areas linked to role
  • To collaboratively develop curriculum packages and programmes to support pupils
  • To provide a safe secure educational setting based on nurture principles
  • Prepare necessary lesson plans that correlate with student needs
  • To teach pupils within the school as necessary to their needs
  • To prepare KS4 pupils for GCSE, BTEC and NCFE qualifications
  • To baseline assess pupils in cooperation with the SENCO so as to develop an individual learning plan and specialist Pupil Profile to support learning and behaviour for each pupil
  • To help develop an ethos that can provide education and wellbeing support for pupils to help them within education successfully based on the concept of ‘unconditional positive regard’.
  • Collaboratively address any barriers to learning associated with all areas of the national curriculum but with a particular focus upon identified curriculum areas
  • To provide relevant documentary evidence for all pupils
  • To have a responsibility and awareness of Safeguarding Children and Young People
  • To attend relevant training as and when required

 

Willingness to work in a non-traditional school with students who have social, emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties who may be considered outside the local authority provision.

Salary: £23,720.00 /year
