SESN - Career Pathway

Career Pathway

SESN and its George Johnson Education Centre has a critical role to play in preparing its learners for the next stage of their education or training and beyond, ensuring that they are well-informed when making subject and career decisions.

SESN have developed its service and network on achieving sustainable outcomes for young people. Therefore providing our students with an opportunity to engage through vocational learning as well as provide work experience placements within different industries allows them to become more aware of the opportunities available to them and ultimately create more focus and aspirations for their future.

We have therefore developed our curriculum, qualifications and network to develop a structure transitional plan for our students to move into Further Education and onto employment.

The school works towards the eight Gatsby Benchmarks and are registered with Complete Careers and are currently working towards obtaining the Careers Mark which ‘Recognise Excellence in Careers, Employability and Enterprise’.

Our Principles

Every individual should be continually encouraged to develop and succeed by uncovering their abilities and talents

Exposure to new experiences, venture and skills are essential to develop a young person’s confidence and desire to learn

An educational environment should be inviting and a place in which young people want to be because it meets their needs and their interests

Innovative without the prescription of linear education
